Jump Into Shape for Girls: Back by Popular Demand

(Courtesy of Jump Into Shape) With few organized sports for younger kids this fall, Jump Into Shape ( www.jumpintoshape.fun ), a fitness program designed to build a healthier body for your soul, has opened registration for an 8-11 year old Jump Roping for Girls class run live online, via Zoom, every week from the comfort of their home.

“After the success of the girls’ jump roping class last year, we planned to offer it again at the right time. Requests began to build, so we decided to jump (pun intended) right into it after the Yom Tovim,” remarked Moshe Moskowitz, founder and head trainer. “It was humbling to learn from parents that this program gave their daughters a physical outlet last year that they so needed. We are pleased to be able to offer this program once again.”

Jump Into Shape offers classes for the entire family. Many members are husband and wife, father and son, mother and daughter, and even siblings. It’s not surprising that young girls want to get in on the fun. Exercising with others is excellent motivation.

The most important component of the Jump Roping for Girls class is FUN! The classes are set to the latest, upbeat Jewish music and combine jump roping with bodyweight exercises that kids love. Dova Moskowitz, a 10th grader at Naaleh High School for Girls and Moshe’s daughter, plans to lead most, if not all, of the girls classes, with a mix of jump roping sets and exercises like seal jacks and frog squats (aka touchdown squats). Girls from anywhere are invited to come together on Zoom on Thursday nights from 6:30 – 7:00 p.m. to jump along with Dova, have fun and work up quite a sweat!

“It’s so much fun to workout with these girls each week,” shared Dova. “I love their energy and watching them improve their skill and endurance each class.”

The next five-week Jump Roping for Girls program begins on Thursday, October 15, at 6:30 p.m. It’s open for girls ages 8 to 11 years old and includes a $19 Crossrope jump rope that can be adjusted to their height. To register, visit www.jumpintoshape.fun/classes.
