JVS MetroWest Appoints New Board President at Taste & Toast Gala

East Orange—Jewish Vocational Service (JVS) of Metrowest New Jersey has appointed Michael Goldberg as president of the Board of Trustees. Mr. Goldberg replaces Sidney Seligman, who had served in that position for the last three years. Mr. Goldberg is president of Goldberg Realty Associates and has served in numerous voluntary positions at JVS over the past 10 years. His appointment was made at the organization’s Taste & Toast gala fundraising event, now in its 10th year, where he had been honored in the past.

“Michael has served JVS tirelessly and we have total confidence that he will drive the organization forward,” said JVS Chief Executive Officer, Addy Bonet. “Michael’s dedication and passion to give people the direction and support they need to get ahead in life has earned him the respect of our entire organization. We know that, under Michael’s leadership, we will be able to even more significantly impact an increasing number of people who benefit from JVS, and enhance the quality and scope of services we provide.”

JVS is a nonprofit, community-based health and human services organization that, for over 75 years, has delivered a wide array of personalized, professional vocational and rehabilitative services on a nonsectarian basis to nearly 20,000 individuals each year.

“I am honored to receive this appointment because I have seen firsthand the substantive contributions that JVS makes to individuals who need help getting a job, learning to speak English, having access to training, obtaining help in their homes and in their communities,” said Mr. Goldberg. “I will strive to live up to the standards Sidney Seligman set, as he embodies JVS’s values. His mentorship has prepared me for this position and I look forward to undertaking new ventures with his continued partnership.”

Since it was founded in Newark, NJ in 1939, JVS’s trained professionals have worked with thousands of individuals in need of employment, education, training, rehabilitation, eldercare and other specialized services. These clients, of all backgrounds, range in age from 14 to 100+. JVS offers services to individuals throughout New Jersey and business-to-business services to companies across the state.
