The Kushner Cobras track and field team put together a strong effort in the yeshiva league’s first meet of the season on April 22, at Red Hook Track.
The Cobra girls team finished in second place overall, with its relay teams leading the charge. Both its 4×100 and 4×200 teams won their events. Sophomore Nava Chefitz finished second in the long jump, second in the 1600 and third in the 100, while freshmen Ellie Coopersmith and Leah Rubenstein took second place in the 800 and 400, respectively (Rubenstein also finished third in the 800). Freshman Yonit Salit finished third in the 200.
The boys finished third overall. Senior Simon Engelsohn took second place in the 1600, while freshman Eli Novick took third in the 3200. The boys 4×200 relay team finished in third place.
