(Courtesy of Fifth Avenue Synagogue) The Fifth Avenue Synagogue will be hosting “Laughs for Light,” a night of comedy, inspiration and charity for Israel. The event will take place at 8 p.m. on Saturday, February 10, and will feature a comedy set from Dan Naturman (“America’s Got Talent” finalist; “Conan,” Comedy Central), as well as musical performances by Six13, Kosha Dillz, and more. All proceeds from the event will be donated directly to Magen David Adom and Zaka. Tickets are limited and can be purchased at ticketsource.us/laughs-for-light: $180 for general admission, $90 for students.

“The committee for the event was really trying to think of ways to help out with the war, while also helping people here cope with this incredibly dark time,” said Jacob Fiskus, an organizer of the event. “The primary goal for ‘Laughs for Light’ is to provide as much aid as we can for the war that’s happening on the ground in Israel. We’re also trying to provide some aid for the war happening within all of us right now, here, against the darkness and negativity we all feel creeping in. Of course we have to pray and to support the IDF and those affected by the war in any way we can. It’s also important to come together and laugh and experience joy. That’s how we beat them here.”

Honoree, radio host Sid Rosenberg.
