Lavy House to Present ‘Eating Clean for Better Health’

An informational program on “Eating Clean for Better Health” with Karen M. Ensle, EdD, RDN, FAND, CFCS (Rutgers Cooperative Extension Professor), will be the featured program for seniors on Tuesday, September 10, from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at The Senior Resource Center at The Lavy House, 748 E. Broad Street, Westfield, New Jersey. This free-of-charge program is sponsored by Jewish Family Service of Central NJ and Temple Emanu-El of Westfield.

According to Karen Ensle, “Eating clean encourages a lifestyle of exercise and a diet plan of unprocessed whole foods like fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean meats, low-fat dairy and no artificial ingredients, preservatives, sugars, saturated fat and trans fat. Learn to improve your food choices, portion sizes and food-prep methods.

A light lunch will be served. Kosher dietary laws observed.

The Senior Resource Center at The Lavy House is a joint venture between Jewish Family Service of Central NJ and Temple Emanu-El of Westfield. Jewish Family Service of Central NJ provides programming and the services of social worker Naomi Kreutzer, MSW, LCSW, each Tuesday.
