Thank you so much for the article last week regarding my Tour de Simcha ride (“Local Tour De Simcha Cyclists Set Sights on World’s Greatest Finish Line: Tova Gerson to Rejoin Tour de Simcha in Memory of Evan Levy, z”l,” June 13, 2019)! It was so lovely to read about it and definitely motivated this week’s training rides!
More amazing this year, is that Evan’s (z”l) mother Margaret Levy has joined the ride. Margaret and her sister Emily Lichtman (both from Englewood) are newbie bikers who threw themselves into this ride to honor Evan’s memory. Besides their sweat on the bikes, they are the driving force behind an incredible fundraising effort that is smashing Tour de Simcha records. As a result of their work, our team is closing in on our fundraising goal of $125,000 with over $119,000 raised so far.
Margaret and her husband Andrew are paradigms of strength and smiles—two words that would easily top a list of Evan’s personality traits as well. Thank you to The Jewish Link for helping to publicize their efforts (and Team Evan’s) to help kids of Chai Lifeline. For more information about the Evan Levy z”l division of Chai Lifeline, or to help us get to our goal, please visit https://jewishlink.news/letters/32075-thank-you-from-team-evan I find it incredibly meaningful that we are surrounded by a community that celebrates tzedaka and kindness.
Thank you again to the Link and to the greater community,
