Linking Northern and Central NJ, Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester and CT

Lines of Demarcation Needed in Teaneck

I am suggesting that white lines should be painted on the right side of all the roads in Teaneck. These white lines should be painted either along the curb (but in the gutter and not on the sidewalk) or where they could serve as a demarcation between the parked cars and the moving cars. This would be especially helpful at night and on rainy days and nights. And I firmly believe these white lines would prevent many accidents.

Today many cars have bright white lights, especially the higher-level trucks, which creates severe visibility obstruction for on-coming traffic. This is especially true on two-way streets. When I see these oncoming bright lights, I personally avert my eyes from looking forward and try to follow the curb for guidance.

The white lines I recommend can be seen along our highways, between the road and the shoulders. Another example of where I have found them is in Englewood on Knickerbocker Road between West Clinton Avenue and Ivy Lane. In fact, Ivy Lane in Teaneck has a painted white line. Palisades Avenue has these lines demarcating the bicycle lane.
