Eight hundred men, women and children celebrated and honored people with special needs by taking part in the annual FCwalk and carnival and raising funds for Friendship Circle programming.
For many who came to celebrate at LifeTown in Livingston, it was the first time they’d been back at the building since the pandemic began in early 2020. They took advantage of the crisp fall air to sit outdoors and catch up with friends.
The myriad activities for children were a hit among the youngsters as they took a ride on a train, a pony and more. They wore their face-paint proudly as they tried their hands at carnival games and sand art and jumped on the bouncy houses.
Hatzolah of West Orange and Livingston was on hand and gave tours of the ambulance to anyone interested.
In addition to the in-person carnival festivities, people also walked in their own neighborhoods, continuing to raise awareness of the unique abilities and contributions individuals with special needs make to our community.
To date, more than $175,000 has been raised for Friendship Circle’s expanded slate of programming. To learn more, visit: www.fcnj.com.
