The Fourth Annual Chanukah Trivia Night at the Synagogue of Suburban Torah (SSTC) in Livingston was an enormous success, drawing over 115 participants for an evening filled with fun, friendly competition and festive cheer. The event, which has quickly become a beloved tradition, brought the community together to celebrate the holiday season with trivia, delicious food and a chance to connect with old and new friends.
Hosted by Stewart Doberman of Teaneck, who is the brother of Livingston’s own Jeremy Doberman, the trivia night was a true family affair. All the trivia content was carefully crafted by Stewart himself, who created a series of fun and challenging questions for participants to test their knowledge about Chanukah, Jewish history and other categories. The event was interactive, with visuals and real-time scoring that kept everyone engaged. The event was meticulously organized by Michael Chapman and Rabbi Proops, with Rabbi Proops taking on the role of master of ceremonies. His engaging personality and warmth ensured that everyone had a great time while competing in the trivia rounds.
The night was made even more special with an open bar generously sponsored by Topshelf Mortgage, allowing guests to enjoy drinks as they mingled and participated in the competition. The food, always an essential part of any event at SSTC, was provided by the popular New Kosher Special in Elizabeth, New Jersey, offering an array of delicious Chinese dishes.
For many, the Chanukah Trivia Night is a highlight of the year, and Rita Rak, a member of the winning trivia team, summed up the spirit of the event: “It’s one of our favorite events at SSTC and it’s become a yearly tradition. What’s better than a night with great friends, Chinese food and trivia?”
The evening’s success can be attributed not only to the lively trivia and delicious food, but also to the strong sense of community at SSTC. It was a night that brought everyone together in celebration of the holiday season, reinforcing the bonds of friendship and connection that define the synagogue.
As the event wrapped up, many participants were already looking forward to next year’s trivia night, eager to continue the tradition and make more memories with friends and family. The Fourth Annual Chanukah Trivia Night was a shining example of the warmth and spirit of the Synagogue of Suburban Torah.
SSTC looks forward to hosting many more events that bring the community together in the years to come.
