Following the resignation of Amir Peretz from the Israeli government, Hatnua Party Chairwoman Tzippi Livni stated that she is also considering resigning: “Life in this government is not easy,” she stated in the annual meeting of One Voice. “I ask myself every day why I am still here and I expect one day I will just say enough is enough.”
Livni added that it is not enough to leave, for “one needs to prepare for elections and not let the right take over the government.” She also referred to the tripartite meeting between Netanyahu, Kerry and Abdullah, stressing that “it is important to calm the situation and for Israel to send messages that they will work with Jordan and the US. The leadership needs to deliver these messages without hesitation, unequivocally and without making provocations.”
