Dear Shayna B.,
My name is Frank and I’m in fourth grade. Everyone has girlfriends, but I don’t. I think it is very weird to have a girlfriend. My problem is I get bullied for not having a girlfriend. What should I do?
Faithful Frank
Dear Faithful Frank,
Can I be frank with you? I think fourth graders are too young to have girlfriends. Tell the bullies that you won’t be eloping in fifth grade. You will not have a honeymoon in sixth grade. And you will not be a grandparent in high school. Tell them you’re living your life happily without a girlfriend. Tell them any girl will be thrilled to be your girlfriend, but it’s too early. If you still get bullied, tell someone. And it’s as easy as that. If you still get bullied, I’m sure there are many fourth grade girls who’d love to be your girlfriend.
Best of luck,
Shayna B.
