Ma’ayanot juniors and seniors joined together with over 25 other schools around the world to participate in the high school track of Nishmat and Mizrachi Canada’s Virtual Health and Halacha Conference. It was great to learn together with former Ma’ayanot teacher Yoetzet Halacha Shayna Goldberg focusing on how to make good decisions and learning to trust the process of making decisions. She explored scenarios relevant to students’ lives like deciding where to go to seminary, where to go to college or whether to make aliyah. Seniors learned with Yoetzet Halacha Lisa Septimus addressing the Torah concepts and values about love. Ma’ayanot faculty members also participated in a special session run by Deracheha staff members Yoatzot Halacha Laurie Novick and Rachel Weber Leshaw (Ma’ayanot Class of 2009) discussing the best practices for teaching tzniut to teens.
