The grand opening of the Ma’ayanot student center last week was only the start to an exciting semester! This week students filled the center for the opening Pink Week event. Students showed worldwide Sharsheret Pink Day pride and support by wearing pink apparel and got moving with schoolwide Pink Day Zumba led by Sharsheret ambassador Lauren Greene. It was a sight to see the stage in use and the center filled with students. Continuing the Pink Day spirit, students heard from a cancer survivor, participated in Thursday advisory session teaching about empathy vs. sympathy and how to be there for a friend via the mitzvah of bikur cholim, and listened to mishmar sessions on the topic of “Building our Identity as Jewish Women.” Ma’ayanot is always proud to partner with Sharsheret in celebrating Pink Day/Week with its students.
