Ma’ayanot faculty and students always look forward to the annual school-wide shabbaton where everyone comes together as a school to spend a wonderful Shabbat together filled with learning, ruach and bonding.
Students headed to Chelsea Piers and enjoyed fun activities including ice skating, rock climbing, sports and gymnastics. They then continued to the hotel, ate lunch, learned about the theme of the shabbaton, לשמוע אל הרינה ואל התפילה, and enjoyed some pre-Shabbat ruach with music, dancing and potato kugel.
The Shabbat programming consisted of beautiful davening, inspiring panels and divrei Torah, grade bonding, connecting with teachers and friends and delicious food. We ended Shabbat with a special musical Havdala, followed by a melave malka dinner and dancing, a senior skit and a school-wide kumzitz. The seniors had a special treat of staying over at the hotel until Sunday morning. Senior Sorah Fisher exclaimed, “This shabbaton was the best one yet. It was really inspiring to hear from so many of my teachers over Shabbat. I feel like my grade has grown so much over the years and we have become so united. It was fun singing and hanging out with everyone. I am so sad that this was my last Ma’ayanot shabbaton, but I know I am going to remember it forever!”
