Ma’ayanot Demonstrates Value of Perseverance After Failure at MakerXpo

Ma’ayanot was proud to be the only yeshiva high school in Bergen County to be on the planning committee for the MakerXpo that took place at Yavneh Academy on March 6. In addition to serving on the planning committee, Ma’ayanot ran a booth, a Failing Forward Lab, that was planned and coordinated by Mrs. Orly Nadler and Mrs. Gila Stein, Co-Directors of STEAM Education and Innovation at Ma’ayanot, with the assistance of members of Ma’ayanot’s guidance department. Philosophically and pedagogically, the booth was inspired by the work of Dr. Carol Dweck, whose research into the working of the human mind revealed that the ability to learn is strengthened through practice, and even more so through perseverance after failure.
