Ma’ayanot Drama Society’s annual winter production this year will be “Matilda The Musical.” This close-knit group of accomplished high school theater students will perform the infamous and beloved show on December 26 and December 28, live on stage in the Ma’ayanot Performing Arts Center.

“Matilda” tells the story of a young girl named Matilda Wormwood, who is exceptionally intelligent and has a love for reading. Despite her extraordinary abilities, Matilda faces a challenging life, as her parents and the cruel headmistress of her school, Miss Trunchbull, fail to recognize her potential. Through her experiences at home and at school, Matilda learns that just because you’re little doesn’t mean you are limited in what you can do.

The Drama Society’s creative team includes Student Director Eliora Roth, Student Producer Sophie Fine, Production Stage Manager Shani Machlis, Sound Designer Devorah Luber, Lighting Designer Abby Berenholz and Black Box Founder Matt Okin as producer. Tickets are on sale now at www.blackboxpac.com.
