Ma’ayanot was honored to host CCSA (Communities Confronting Substance Use and Addiction), a part of Ohel. CCSA delivers evidence-based programs to educate students about substance use and addiction within the Jewish community. Each grade participated in an age-appropriate session led by a trained educational presenter who shared personal experiences with addiction. Our seniors gained valuable insights from a presentation tailored to their upcoming transition after high school, addressing the potential changes and challenges they may encounter. Overall, the program created a supportive and engaging environment where students felt safe to engage and ask questions. It emphasized making informed, healthy decisions regarding substances and understanding the impact of drugs and alcohol on their brains and bodies. Students also learned practical refusal skills, strategies for making positive choices and how to recognize and support individuals struggling with substance abuse.
