Ma’ayanot was honored to host Representative Josh Gottheimer’s press conference last week where he discussed the importance of the federal homeland security grants that act to protect religious institutions across the state and nation. Gottheimer also spoke about his bipartisan legislation, the Antisemitism Awareness Act, that supports students facing antisemitism. Under his leadership, the legislation passed overwhelmingly in the House of Representatives. With the alarming increase in antisemitism in Bergen County, students appreciated the opportunity to show the congressman gratitude.

Ma’ayanot also welcomed Sarah Wallace, a reporter for NBC News, who covered Representative Gottheimer’s press conference and then visited with students to discuss the rise in antisemitism. Wallace’s visit and interview with the students aired last week on NBC Nightly News.
