Ma’ayanot sophomores, Leora Rubinstein and Orly Epstein and junior Nesya Bayewitz, attended ADL’s Bergen County Youth Leadership Conference on Social Media, Activism and Allyship. The conference was hosted by Cresskill High School and featured a conversation between award winning chef and activist Eitan Bernath and Richelle Terese, communications and PR chair for the New Jersey NAACP. Students learned about the benefits and costs of participating in social media activism, and learned how to work together as allies to address rising hate. After participating in breakout groups with participating schools, they came together to discuss what ideas they could bring back to their schools and communities.
