Match Rate for Ferkauf’s Clinical PsyD Program in Top Six Nationwide

New York–The clinical PsyD program at Yeshiva University’s Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology had one of the highest match rates of similar programs in the United States over a four-year period. The Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Center’s report is one of the factors that potential graduate students weigh when deciding where to pursue their doctoral degree.

Match rate is a term used to refer to a succeed/fail ratio of applications to jobs or internships by graduating students. In the context of the medical profession, match rate means the percentage of graduating students who get internships. With a match rate of 93% and an average class size of 25 students a year, the clinical PsyD program rates are higher than the national average for all doctoral programs and “comparable to even much smaller Ph.D. programs,” according to Dr. Jamie Schumpf, Director of Externship and Internship training at Ferkauf.
