Words seem meaningless this week, even as millions of words have been uttered in prayer and written in newspapers and on so­cial media, because there is nothing we can do or say to ease the pain of parents who lost their children in senseless acts of violence—par­ticularly when that violence has festered for so long. We can only continue to pray and hope that whatever comes next will not shame the memories of these innocent young boys, who we will remember for a very long time.
