Alon Davidi, the mayor of Sderot, paid a visit to Emporio last week while in Teaneck.

The mayor, traveling with Dorel Abramovitz, director of resources at the Sderot Foundation, was on his way to meetings and speeches in Washington, D.C., and needed a new suit.

Mayor Davidi, pleased with his new wardrobe, presented Emporio with a beautiful mezuzah made by Ethiopian women in Sderot. Utilizing traditional Ethiopian needlework, Rokmot Embroiderers allows Ethiopian women to earn a living while preserving the treasures of Ethiopian art.
