Mazal Tov MDS Class of 2021

Last Tuesday evening, MDS students, parents and faculty joined together to commemorate the milestone of the school’s eighth grade graduation. Graciously hosted by The Frisch School on their beautiful campus, it was an opportunity to revisit old times and celebrate the accomplishments of each of the 50 graduates.

After the processional, Raizi Chechik opened the ceremony with words of welcome and gratitude for being able to celebrate this special day in person after a challenging year. Uriel Heller sang “Hatikva” and the National Anthem, then Jojo Toussie, student government president, read Tehillim. Sarah Mero, student government president, addressed the audience with words of inspiration about conquering any obstacles that may be encountered throughout life and wished her classmates well in their future endeavors in high school and beyond.

Associate Principal Sharon Miller introduced the Rabbi Dovid Kaminetsky midot award and presented certificates to winners Goldie Kratka and Ben Levy. Kratka spoke confidently and passionately about her volunteer work and Levy gave a meaningful dvar Torah.

Chechik, Rabbi Rosenfeld, Miller and Rabbi Cohen distributed the diplomas while speaking about each student personally, then the guests viewed a montage of the Class of 2021 and watched the students grow up before their eyes throughout their years at MDS.

After inspirational words from Rabbi Josh Rosenfeld, and the official graduation proclamation by Board President Tova Epstein, the graduates took photos with their families and enjoyed a parting gift and a takeaway box of treats.

Mazal tov to all of the graduates!
