Linking Northern and Central NJ, Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester and CT

Throughout Sefirat HaOmer, the MDS community has joined together to focus on chesed and unity. Students raised money and awareness for Chai Lifeline, an amazing organization that is an international support network, providing social, emotional and practical assistance to children, families, and communities impacted by medical crises and trauma through a variety of year-round programs and services. Fourth through eighth grade classes were tasked with reaching out to friends and family to join the cause and raise money for Chai Lifeline.

On Lag B’Omer, students in grades one through eight loaded the buses to Votee Park in Teaneck, and ran in … a color run—an interactive experience where color powder is thrown throughout the course. By the end everyones’ white T-shirts were bright and colorful, truly displaying their achdut. The festivities continued with a Chickies truck for lunch, a concert with Dovid Perlman and a speaker from Chai Lifeline. Everyone enjoyed celebrating Lag B’Omer together with Chai Lifeline. Thank you Dani and Bari Erber and Rabbi Zev Kahane for all of their efforts in planning this event and connecting MDS to Chai Lifeline. Thank you Julie Hausner and Aliza Rubin for capturing the magic of this day.
