Menorah at MetLife Stadium

(Courtesy of Chabad of the Meadowlands) What do the Maccabees and the Giants have in common?

Football fans from across the tri-state area headed to MetLife Stadium on Sunday, November 28 for the New York Giants vs. Philadelphia Eagles game to complete their Thanksgiving weekend. As they neared the stadium’s entrance, fans were greeted with a giant menorah, joyous Chanukah music and 15 yeshiva students doing mivtzoim.

Rabbi Yitzchok Lerman of Chabad of The Meadowlands arranged with stadium security for the grand menorah, built by Ashi Seper, to be set up in a prime location at the stadium’s entrance. Rabbi Lerman’s students at the Rabbinical College of America were on hand giving out hundreds of menorahs to cheering fans as they entered the stadium.

Just as the Maccabees won the war, the New York Giants won 13-7 against the Philadelphia Eagles!
