After a three week break in the action, MGBL girls basketball was back with a vengeance on Sunday.

The spotlight game of the week took place in the new Yavneh Academy gym, and home of the Redhawks. Team Travel Techspert (2-0) was playing team Jewish Link of New Jersey (0-2). The Jewish Link’s Hadar Ohring got the game started, sinking the first of two free throws, less than a minute into the game. Led by Talya and Nechama Adler with seven points each, team Travel Techsperts would not relinquish their dreams of a perfect season without a fight. When the final buzzer sounded ending the fifth period, the Jewish Link of New Jersey found themselves on the long side of a 31-24 score, to capture their first victory of the season.

As the girls playoff races heat up, the MGBL boys divisions are preparing for their season. The commissioners warn that the divisions are filling up quickly and the remaining spots will be given on a first come-first served basis.
