I am very pleased to write that following my letter two weeks ago seeking information about YU’s Torah Leadership Seminars (TLS) (“Yeshiva University Youth Bureau History,” October 21, 2021), I received 15 emails. Kudos to The Jewish Link.

My thought is to have a book written about the groundbreaking work done by Abe Stern, the founder and director of the Youth Bureau at Yeshiva University 70 years ago. TLS was an outgrowth of the original YUSCY programs (Yeshiva University Synagogue Council of Youth), which sponsored shabbatonim in many communities around the country being served by YU musmachim. The JSS department at Yeshiva University was created due to the influence of TLS.
