To kick off the academic year and create a greater sense of community and partnership between the school and students, Moriah School Spirit Day was celebrated on Rosh Chodesh Cheshvan. The entire school, dressed in blue and yellow, participated in various activities including a scavenger hunt, a Moriah-themed word search and a special picture at the Moriah photo booth. Nursery and Lower school students also enjoyed a walk through Noah’s Ark, which was parked in the school parking lot (insert photo). The day culminated with hundreds of students singing – and doing the hand motions for – the Moriah Cups song. Fun, team building activities and a school wide re-enactment of the song everyone seems to be singing lately—the Moriah Cups song. With ruach and lots of school spirit, several students and faculty at the Moriah School jumped on the CUPS craze and created a Moriah-centric version of the wildly popular song in celebration of Rosh Chodesh. Fourth grade student, Meira Rychick sings the new lyrics while the entire faculty, staff and students at Moriah – including Principal Dr. Prager – do the cups motions.
