The Moriah School kindergarten students enjoyed learning all about the presidents! The children were surprised to find out that the pictures of presidents are on money! They looked at various coins and discussed their values. As a culmination of the unit, they set up a class snack store. Each child received 10 cents to spend. There was one catch, they did not have enough money to buy everything. This allowed for some decision making. Just as adults have to decide what to spend their money on, the children had to make similar decisions. The children could also decide not to spend all of their money and to save some.
