The highlight of the Moriah seventh graders’ Zoom experience took place on Friday, March 20, when Darren Solomon, whose bar mitzvah was scheduled for that weekend, lained, surrounded by his family, from his festively decorated dining room, for all his friends, teachers and relatives. After careful orchestration with Rabbis Chaim Poupko and Shlomo Hyman, Rabbi Alter led a program that combined Solomon’s laining of several aliyot with questions Rabbi Alter asked on the parsha, and with divrei Torah and bracha from the two other rebbeim. Mazal tov wishes filled the chat throughout Solomon’s expert reading, as dozens of people, determined to ensure that he had his special day, offered virtual pats on the back, handshakes, hugs and kisses.
