Moriah Is Ready for Chanukah

The Moriah School is ready for Chanukah! With the help of the first graders, art teacher Morah Gila Bretter adorned the Moriah lobby with beautiful Chanukah decorations. The building entry is home to very creative homemade menorahs created by the first graders made from materials like lego, candy, marshmallows and more! The theme for the lobby is “Together we can make light to chase away the darkness.” A giant wooden menorah stands three feet tall with Moriah staff members lighting the candles. On the back wall there are many candles made up of early childhood and lower school students creating their own light to chase away the darkness. In the center is a menorah made up of IDF soldiers who risk their lives every day for the safety of the Jewish people. From the War of Independence until today, the IDF embodies “miracles of the past in our time.” Thanks to Morah Gila and the first graders, Moriah students, parents and staff love walking into the building every day! Happy Chanukah!
