Moriah Makes Rosh Hashanah Art

This week The Moriah School students learned about the seven elements of art—line, value, color, space, shape, form and texture. As the artist Paul Klee once said; “A line is a dot that went for a walk.” The students used these elements all mixed up to create a beautiful piece of art. They took one of the symbols of Rosh Hashanah, the pomegranate, which is simple and enhanced the drawing with line energy using the seven elements of art. The students received a white paper, sharpies, watercolors and oil pastels. The students were encouraged to create designs by alternating the use of different types of lines and to use warm colors to design the pomegranates.
