It was a lively and heartfelt evening as the sixth grade girls celebrated together on the occasion of reaching gil mitzvot. The auditorium was set up with bright colors and filled with the smiling faces of students, parents, teachers and principals. As everyone dined on a delicious dinner, divrei bracha were delivered to the bnot mitzvah by Rabbi Alter and Morah Gila. Rachel Pomerantz and Sheindel Kermaier lead the group in a meaningful recital of Tehillim, and Leah Rynhold and Menucha Sosland delivered divrei Torah with confidence and poise. A video presentation followed, featuring the girls’ reflections of what becoming a bat mitzvah means to them. Being conscious of the important principle of giving to others, the girls participated in an activity to benefit the organization Tomorrow’s Children. There was spirited dancing and then dessert. Capping off the evening, each girl was called up and presented with a set of personalized machzorim by Mrs. Boim. It was a fun and memorable event. Mazal tov to all.
