Moriah Students Share Unique Israeli Items

In honor of Yom Ha’atzmaut, fourth and fifth grade Moriah students were requested to bring in an item relating to Israel that is special to him/her.

Each student had to write about their item in Hebrew and include as much information as possible, answering questions like: Where did they get it from? When did they get it? Who does if belong to? In addition, they had to describe it using as much detail possible (external and internal appearance of the object, color, texture, etc.)

Students took the assignment seriously and brought in very interesting items like: a great grandmother’s necklace, beautiful jewelry items, an army uniform and beret, Israeli snacks, a shofar, a siddur, old and new coins, stones from diverse sites in Israel, sport jerseys and many more.

They enjoyed this activity since each wrote about an item that relates to them personally. Their writing pieces are displayed on a table outside of each classroom.
