As a Bnei Akiva camp, Moshava Ba’ir bases itself on the principles of Torah v’avodah. The camp encourages aliyah, love of the Jewish people and love of Israel. Showing support and encouragement of those making the leap, is integral to its core mission. This week the camp celebrated Yom Aliyah. Yom Aliyah is the day in which everyone celebrates and honors the chanichim, tzevet and mishpachot who have decided to return home by making aliyah or enlisting in Tzahal or sherut leumi (national service). To enhance the avira (atmosphere) of Yom Aliyah, everyone donned their blue and white Moshava Ba’ir T-shirts. Participants were called up and gifted a travel bag of MBNJ swag that displays the famous pasuk from Yirmiyahu:
וְשָׁבוּ בָנִים לִגְבוּלָם
“And there is hope for thy future, saith the LORD; and thy children shall return to their own border.”
The ceremony continued with a vibrant daglanut performance by the incredible Bogrot, a theatrical experience by the chinuch tzevet and a serenade of “Ahavat Yisrael” by Nathan Ribner. The ceremony was completed with a memorable mifkad and “Hatikavah.”
MBNJ wishes all of those moving to Israel a tzeitchem l’shalom!
