This past Wednesday, the JV Lions basketball team hosted the Westchester Wolverines. The Lions press was unbreakable and they ended the first quarter up by 25 points. The Lions continued to dominate and ended up winning 81 to 23. The best moment of the game came in the final minutes when the shortest player on the Westchester squad sank a three pointer. Both teams mobbed the shooter as if he had just sealed a championship victory. It was a touching scene and demonstrated that even though winning is important, sportsmanship comes first. The Lions’ next game will be at home against Heschel on February 7.
