Halachic Adventure with the BMK—Practical Shimush in Hilchos Mezuza

Rabbi Tanchum Cohen, maggid shiur of the Wrubel Beis Medrash Katan at MTA, took many of his senior talmidim on an outing to learn practical halachos on-site. Their trip brought them to a home in Bergenfield where they spent close to two hours getting hands-on shimush in hilchos mezuza.

Talmidim got to see countless se’ifim in the Shulchan Aruch come to life, and to experience psak in real-time. In addition, the house was simply fascinating to explore. The dinim they learned and encountered included assessing irregular doorways; applying Rabbi Akiva Eiger’s famous shitta on walk-in closets and the Nesivos’s shitta on segmented doorposts; the halachic status of garages, haunted basements and other storage space; and determining the primary direction in complex first-floor rooms.

It was an incredible opportunity that the talmidim will not soon forget!
