Once again, Yeshiva University High School for Boys’ (MTA) Annual Highland Park and Edison Shabbaton was a huge success.
The excitement started with the packed late ride from MTA Thursday night. On Friday morning, the talmidim had the opportunity to enjoy davening and hanging out together. The boys regrouped Friday night to hold their own Carlebach minyan, led by freshman DJ Wartelsky. After finishing their meals at their hosts, the boys headed to the home of senior Yair Caplan for a ruach-filled tisch open to eighth graders as well. The next day, the MTA boys davened together at the Ohr Torah Teen Minyan led by MTA alumnus Ami Avraham (‘98), with seniors (name withheld) and Ari Englander leading shacharit and musaf respectively. Upon the completion of davening, the boys were treated to a gala kiddush sponsored by MTA, followed by lunch in the shul. Thank you to Elie Hirt and Rabbi Green and his family for joining us and organizing this shabbaton, to the Caplans for hosting the wonderful Friday night tisch, and to all the MTA boys who came from far and wide and who leined and shared divrei Torah over the course of Shabbat.
