This week, Yeshiva University High School for Boys (MTA) participants in the “Names, Not Numbers” program had the incredible opportunity to interview Holocaust survivors. After months of preparation, researching and learning about “their” survivors, the students dressed in formal attire and greeted the survivors as they arrived in the MTA building. They then eagerly walked the survivors to the filming classroom where the equipment was set up and where they were to conduct their interviews. The students listened to the survivors as they relayed the horrors of that time and their emotional and inspirational stories of where they are today and how they got there. All of the testimonials were very successful, and the students are now looking forward to editing their films.
