MVP 2020 Girls All Stars Shine

(Courtesy of MVP) Hoping you and your family are safe and well. What better way to celebrate Mother’s Day than with the MVP Girls All Star Zoom Hot Shot Challenge! On Sunday May 10, MVP Basketball Camps hosted the competition featuring All Stars as selected by their respective coaches from yeshivas throughout NY-NJ Metro Area.

The unique and interactive event featured players shooting hoops in their backyards and driveway baskets in Bergenfield, Atlantic Beach, Passaic, Berkeley Heights, Fresh Meadows, Livingston, Monsey, Brooklyn, Deal, West Hempstead, Teaneck, New Rochelle, New Milford, Woodmere, White Plains, Englewood, Great Neck, Plainview and Oceanside.

Throughout the day the All Stars, representing yeshiva day schools from grades six through high school, competed in the Hot Shot Challenge while they also interacted on Zoom with their friends from other schools. In addition, it was also great to see several pairs of sisters participate from different grades and schools.

Congratulations to all the All Stars as well as to the MVP All Star Champions: sixth grade— Esther Kroub, Yeshivah of Flatbush; seventh grade—Alexa Hajibay, North Shore Hebrew Academy; eighth grade—Samantha Pruzansky, Yeshivat He’Atid; High School—Esther Mizrachi, Yeshivah of Flatbush.

Yeshivat He’Atid was the only school to have a champion for their school for both the boys and the girls, with Nathan Neufeld winning the sixth grade boy’s competition. When asked about the MVP experience, Pruzansky noted, “It was a true honor to be able to win the competition and represent Yeshivat He’Atid during our first ever all-star game.”

Each grade’s competition was exciting as every player gave it her all, with the eighth grade challenge featuring a tie breaker. The high school competition was the closest contest where the top five players were separated by one point!

Special thanks to all the parents who served not only as cheerleaders, but as camerapersons to keep the Zoom focus on their daughters. It was especially heartwarming to see many grandparents who logged on to watch their granddaughters compete. Special shout out to the Yeshiva League coaches who joined Zoom to watch and cheer on their All Stars!

On Sunday, May 17, MVP Camps will host a special new Zoom challenge for all registered MVP 2020 campers. Stay tuned for upcoming MVP events.

This event is sponsored by MVP Basketball Camps.
