On Friday, March 5, Naaleh finally held its highly anticipated Fridayton! The G.O. worked tirelessly to put together a well-rounded, highly spirited and meaningful Friday program in lieu of a shabbaton. Dressed for Shabbos, the students enjoyed six Shabbos-themed activities highlighting “The Gift of Shabbos.” The students were privileged to hear divrei chizuk from Rabbi Benzion Klatzko, founder of Shabbat.com, who shared compelling insights about Shabbos as a time to nurture our relationship with Hashem. They prepared apple crisps and chocolate chip sticks, sang and danced at a Shabbos oneg over cholent and kugel and decorated Shabbos matchbox covers and Havdala mats in art. One of the highlights of the day was the chesed activity, where students created Shabbos gift baskets for the Fairlawn Jewish Center and flower arrangements and packages for families in need in the community which were delivered after the program. The festivities culminated with an amazing G.O. video and to-go bags packed by the G.O. with treats, swag and a Shabbos newsletter to enjoy.
