(Courtesy of Bris Avrohom) A new class for men, “Insights on Davening,” began this month at the home of Eli Alayev. The goal of the class is to teach people the importance of a shul and prayer, and to instill the message that a Jew comes to shul not merely to pray but to form a connection to God. A Jew is given the opportunity three times a day to connect to God and God always listens.
The basic laws of prayer as written in the Shulchan Aruch are discussed, as well as the deeper meaning of prayer based on chasidus. The half-hour class, given by Rabbi Mordechai Kanelsky, takes place every Monday evening. The class is given as a zechut for a refuah sheleima for Shoshana Tova bat Leah.
