Rabbi Dr. Yosef Glassman is on a mission to make aliyah for the 60 and older set as easy as possible. A former IDF lieutenant and combat physician in the Negev’s Bislamach unit, he has been working with Hadarta, a New Jersey-based organization that gets its name from the pasuk in the sefer Vayikra “V’hadarta pnei zaken” and helps facilitate aliyah for an older demographic. Together with Hadarta, Dr. Glassman has teamed up with the Oranim Group and the Sea One Private Club in Israel to offer luxurious beachfront resort living right in Eretz Yisrael.
Designed with English-speaking olim in mind, this 5-star retirement community development is situated on the Mediterranean boardwalk, in the heart of Rishon L’Tzion. The 250-plus unit resort includes amenities such as indoor and outdoor pools, a state-of-the-art gym, fine kosher dining and several kosher cafes, a movie theater, a spa, a yoga and Pilates studio, an art studio, and much more. The development is impressive in terms of its scale and the facilities are top-tier. While the development is meant for independent living, it does expect at some point to facilitate assisted living as residents get older.
Units in the facility accommodate both single and double occupancy and there is an adjacent hotel for when family and friends come to visit. The development will also house Shabbat elevators and a synagogue where residents can expect to find Dr. Glassman leading davening and giving shiurim. In fact, the beachfront synagogue will even host Shabbat and chag-related events throughout the year.
A Harvard Medical School geriatrics instructor, Dr. Glassman is licensed in both Israel and the United States, He will serve as medical director, providing cutting-edge geriatric medical care for the development, where residents will find an on-site clinic and also have the option of in-room medical care. Dr. Glassman describes himself as “someone who can help others navigate the Israeli healthcare system and bureaucracy, especially if there are medical needs that need to be addressed,” adding that he will be there to assist olim every step of the way.
Perhaps best of all, the development is centrally located with the central train station just a few miles away. Residents and their visitors can also walk to Tel Aviv in just minutes by simply meandering on the boardwalk that connects the two cities, while enjoying the shops and cafes along the way.
Unit prices range from $480,000 to $1.8 million, and there are many options for purchasing. Unit sizes range from around 538 square feet for a one-bedroom apartment to 931 square feet for a two-bedroom apartment. Units come with fully equipped kitchens. Additional options and amenities are available.
The secure purchasing process for a unit includes a short interview, a purchase request, a standard agreement and a down payment. Collaterals are provided to ensure the security of the investment, with the responsibility for all associated payments on the Oranim Group. While there are monthly membership fees, the retirement community is completely tax-free, with no purchase tax or real estate taxes.
Rabbi Menachem Goldberger of Kehillas Tiferes Yisroel in Baltimore is a strong supporter of the initiative and said: “May Hashem bless Rabbi Dr. Yosef Glassman, MD, as he embarks on the Hadarta project to encourage 60-plus aliyah to Israel.I have known Dr. Glassman for over 26 years, and his exceptional combination of talents and traits equips him to make a significant impact on the settling of Eretz Yisroel in a beautiful manner. I have much confidence in the success of his Go2IsraelNow endeavor, and may Hashem grant the entire community shefa both b’ruchniyus and b’gashmiyus.”
The development is projected to be completed in the summer of 2025. Dr. Glassman will be holding an event this Sunday, December 15 where he will make a presentation about the development and share more information about this stunning opportunity. Location will be provided upon registration.
