RYNJ students were enraptured and transfixed by a model of Noach’s ark, which visited the school this week. The hands on experience included children viewing how the animals entered the ark, the source of drinking water, the various levels and the purpose of each floor. Students even had the opportunity to feed the animals on the ark—a llama, goats, sheep and rabbits.

The students were fascinated by the under-boat fish tank which could be seen through a glass bottom and it gave them a sense of the only living creatures which were not on the boat! A replica of the tzohar, or light source, a talking moose with answers to their questions, a model of the raven and the dove, and a 3D experience rounded out their time in the ark, but the highlight was seeing Rabbi Bernstein and Rabbi Wachtel dressed as Noach.
