First graders at Yeshivat Noam celebrated their writing in the presence of family, teachers and administration at this year’s annual First Grade Publishing Party. Students wrote and illustrated their own poetry books, filled with poems about shapes and colors, as well as acrostic and five-senses poems. Their inspired thoughts and ideas were represent in each and every word, picture and smile that was draped across their faces as they read their books to eager crowds of onlookers. Once the readings were complete, students were encouraged to continue their creative writing, and were presented with a personalized writing journal and pencil set.
