(Courtesy of NORPAC) Congressman Josh Gottheimer was hosted at a NORPAC event recently at the Teaneck home of Sarah and Dr. Robert Goodman. Rep. Gottheimer’s district encompasses portions of Bergen, Passaic, Sussex and Warren counties, including Bergenfield, Fair Lawn, New Milford, Paramus and Teaneck.

Regarding the United States’ recent withdrawal from the 2015 Iran Deal (JCPOA), Gottheimer stated: “[The JCPOA] did not permanently preclude Tehran’s pathway to the bomb… [and] failed to address Iran’s aggressive development of long-range ballistic missiles to deliver these nuclear weapons. These facts remain true today.”

His discussion with attendees focused largely on the need to keep US-Israel relations a non-partisan issue, stating that the pro-Israel community needs to maintain and increase its advocacy efforts to keep up with the growing anti-Israel rhetoric from other groups on Capitol Hill.

Rep. Gottheimer is finishing up his first term in Congress and will be running for re-election in November.
