On Sunday, Leon & Roz Kozak of Englewood hosted an evening event for U.S. Senator Roger Wicker (R-MS) at their home.
Roger Wicker is a former Air Force officer and has been a U.S. Senator for more than a decade. He is assigned to the Senate Committees on Armed Services, Commerce, Science and Transportation, Environment and Public Works, Rules and Security and Cooperation in Europe.
During the event, Senator Wicker discussed his stance on US Foreign Policy in the Middle East and with Israel. He expressed concern over Iran’s testing of ballistic missiles as a hostile threat to America and its ally Israel. He stated support for legislation to sanction Iran for non-nuclear purposes, and pushing to designate the Iran Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist entity internationally.
Domestically, Wicker was concerned about the impact of the Boycott, Divestment & Sanctions (BDS) movement on college campuses. He is a current co-sponsor of S. 170, the Combating BDS Act of 2017, which aims to give states greater latitude in instituting regulations against BDS-supporting entities that are contracted by the state.
Roger Wicker will be running for re-election in 2018.
