NORPAC Hosts Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) in Englewood

Batya and Ben Klein recently hosted a NORPAC event for Sen. Ted Cruz’s presidential campaign. Since being elected to the U.S. Senate in 2012, Cruz has demonstrated his strong support for Israel. The senator has traveled to Israel three times and has consistently reported that Israel is an extraordinary place that wants peace with its neighboring countries. As a presidential candidate, Cruz has emphasized that strengthening the U.S.-Israel relationship is a personal priority for him.

At the NORPAC event, Sen. Cruz told the crowd that he unapologetically stands by Israel because the country shares many of the same values as the U.S. These shared values include the love of human rights and the love of life. Furthermore, Sen. Cruz emphasized that it is in the U.S.’s strategic interest to strengthen the U.S.-Israel relationship as Israel is the only democracy in an incredibly unstable region in the world.

Cruz promised that, if elected, he would move the U.S. embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. He expressed outrage over the fact that Israel is the only country in the world where the U.S. embassy is not in the capital, and vowed to change the current situation. In addition, Sen. Cruz asserted that the single greatest threat to Israel and the U.S. is a nuclear Iran. To that effect, he has promised to take immediate action to mitigate the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) with Iran if elected president.
