Ohr Yisroel’s first annual shabbaton was an inspiring success. The weekend began with davening and shiur in the yeshiva after which the boys, and rebbeim, were treated to an exciting paintball event. The yeshiva then traveled to The Mansion in Monsey for Shabbos, which commenced with an uplifting kabbalas Shabbos, led by Rabbi Elon Soniker. Davening led into a festive Friday night meal and tish featuring the school’s very own Rabbi Shlomo Gaisen of Zusha. The tish was highlighted by the presence of Rabbi YY Jacobson who shared powerful and uplifting words of Torah. Shabbos morning, the talmidim and rebbeim collaborated for a beautiful davening followed by chaburos, board games and a full day of oneg Shabbos. The shabbaton was punctuated by a kumzitz and seudah shelishit presentation from Rabbi YY Jacobson that continued well after dark.
