Ohr Yisroel hosted a powerful presentation about the risks and consequences of gambling. Since the legalization of online gambling and online sports betting in New Jersey and New York, gambling dependency and addiction in teenagers unfortunately has become commonplace. Ohr Yisroel is committed to addressing this rising issue and providing critical support to its talmidim around this concerning trend.

Ohr Yisroel was privileged to host Meshulam, owner/operator of one of the biggest gambling treatment centers in the United States and a former gambling addict himself, for a schoolwide program. Before meeting with talmidim, Meshulam met with the entire rabbinic faculty to discuss best practices for prevention and how to identify an addiction. He then spoke to the entire student body about his experience as an addict and steps they can take to avoid getting involved.
